Every app under Child Lock gets one of three behaviours. Mix and match freely.
The app simply does not open. When your child taps it, they see a friendly "App not available right now" screen instead.
The app only opens after you enter your parent PIN. The child sees a prompt asking them to get a parent — perfect for supervised screen time.
The app is available for a parent-set duration. When time runs out, it locks automatically. More time requires your PIN — you decide if they've earned it.
From the FocusLock home screen, tap "Child Lock". Authenticate with your parent PIN (or set one now). Child Lock mode is now active.
Browse all installed apps and add the ones you want to manage. These are separate from the regular focus-session block list.
For each selected app, choose Fully Blocked, Password Gate, or Timed Access. For Timed Access, set the initial duration and extension increment.
FocusLock's Accessibility Service enforces the rules automatically. No ongoing attention needed from you.
At any time, open the Child Lock dashboard to see how long each app was used today and how many time extensions you granted.
Example: YouTube set to 20 min initial, +10 min extensions
App opens immediately. A live countdown ("20:00 remaining") appears. The child uses the app normally.
A gentle in-app banner appears: "1 minute remaining. Ask a parent for more time."
FocusLock intercepts the app. The screen shows: "⏰ Time's up! Ask a parent for more time." The child cannot bypass this.
Parent decides whether to grant an extension. If yes, they enter their PIN on the device.
App reopens. Countdown resets to 10:00. The extension is logged in the dashboard.
Repeat until the parent decides no more extensions. The total usage and extension count are saved in the dashboard.
